While I think it’s very important to show love to another, I think it’s just as, if not more important to give yourself a bit of love too.
Because if we can’t love ourselves, how can we accept or trust ourselves? How can we live a happy life without truly loving what we’re living as.
Before you think about how you’ll shower your Valentine in love, why not make some time to give yourself a bit of loving too.
It’s as easy as telling yourself every now and again ‘I love you’, being gentle with yourself when you’re sensitive and celebrating the amazing person you are.
Love yourself entirely. Your body, mind, actions, thoughts- the whole kit-caboodle. It’s yours for life, so why not spend it in harmony, loving it.
It’s this concept of self love that we often associate with selfishness and vanity. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth. In order to pour out love to others we must first have that love present within us.
Self love isn’t just important to ensure you can whole-heartedly exchange love with and for others, but so that our life is worthwhile.
If you didn’t love yourself, even in the tiniest bit then I’m guessing your life would be full of sorrow, self pity, loneliness and sadness. Not something we want for the rest of our lives, right?
But the fact that you are living your life in a positive way means that in some instance (even in the tiniest ways) you do love yourself. And what we need to do now is multiple that by 8309183982138039123894738!
And not just on Valentine’s Day (although it’s a perfect way to remember this important point) but everyday.
Love yourself and you’ll love life, love others and be loved. Love yourself and ultimately everything will be lovely.
