Last night was another low key date night, which is exactly what I wanted, and needed! I told the bf next weekend, we’ll celebrate my end of prac and go somewhere special
We decided to go for Nandos, since we haven’t had that in forever. And actually it filled me up more than I remembered. Plus it was very satisfying. I chose the Supremo wrap which has marinated chicken tenderloins, mixed lettuce, tomato, sweet chilli PERi-PERi sauce & light cream cheese in a multi-grain tortilla.
I also chose the mild heat for my peri peri sauce- because I’m one of those people ‘that like it a little hotter’ according to my flagged toothpick haha! The bf wussed out and chose the lemon, lime & herb sauce for those ‘who are cool lovers’ on his classic chicken burger. That went unphotographed but we were pretty impressed with the circumference of the burger, but the height was nothing compared to our usual Grill’d burgers! Anyways, back to my dinner!
The multigrain wrap was better than I remembered, as it was soft and warm. There was plenty of lettuce and tomato which I was pleased about also. I think what really made this wrap good though was the combination of the peri peri sweet chilli sauce and the light cream cheese! I might have to recreate this at home some time. Oh and just a warning, although it’s mild that baby was still plenty spicy.
Oh and I also got a laugh out of the quirky napkins they offered.
Funny that many months ago this would have realistically been me. And now I can look at things like this and take it for what they are- a giggle.
On the way home we made a dessert stop. I wasn’t really feeling anything, although I’m going to try Ben & Jerry’s new clusterfluff soon- peanut butter ice cream, peanut butter swirl, caramel pieces & marshmallow swirl. Um, sign me up!? Although I didn’t grab anything the bf got his absolute favourite Domino’s Chocolate Lava Cake, I picked up a cold rock creation for my mum and my brother had a frozen coke. Once I got home I decided to make a creation of my own.
Into my bowl went natural greek yogurt Chobani, oats, chia seeds, bran sticks, a nectarine (love that these are in season!), sultanas, 1/2 an apple, 1/2 a banana, chocolate chips and melted pb. Oh and a dash of milk to get things moist. Filling, healthy and scrumptious!
DAILY HEALTHY THOUGHT: I am strong.
What did you get up to on Saturday night? Have you tried Ben & Jerry’s clusterfluff? What’s your favourite B & J flavour?!
