So date night was a bit all over the shop last night, we weren’t really sure what we were doing so we were going to play it by ear. Yes, this neurotic routine and organisation freak was going with the flow We ended up seeing the movie I’d been wanting to see- The Watch. I absolutely loved the actors in it and there was definitely some funny scenes but I was let down with it overall. I’m still waiting for a fantastic LOL movie to come out.
Then it was dinner time and we were a bit iffy about what we wanted- there was a new joint called Mad Mex that had recently opened up and I do like trying new places. Plus it was named best Mexican or something.
We’d got told to steer clear of the soft tacos, so the bf went with a tiny but seriously overpriced burrito and I had a naked burrito (burrito without the wrap in a bowl). I chose to have lettuce, eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, roasted salsa, guacamole, rice, black beans and some capsicum and onion in mine- oh with a sprinkling of cheese also. I was really let down with the flavours and the bf felt his could have been way warmer. We really regretted going there since our no-fail favourite- Grill’d was just next door. Well, we know for next time. I hate having a crappy, unsatisfying meal when you’re starving.
After that it was home time. We usually have a date night dessert (I cannot believe I’ve not had a desserty-dessert apart from my healthy creation snacks for over two weeks now- I am not feeling deprived at all). I wasn’t really feeling anything so the bf got his fav Ben & Jerry choc fudge brownie to mix with some chocolates for his own creation.
I have a new appreciation for ice-cream mashers that stuff is hard to do, especially without a cold plate- it melts everywhere! But don’t worry I didn’t get left out, I made my own creation- but made it a bit more dessert like by throwing a fun size snickers and bounty in the mix. In went: 1 ginger nut biscuit, oats, muesli, 1/2 apple, 3 strawberries, 1/2 banana, 1/4 chobani + milk to make it runny, 1 fun size snickers and bounty and the very last of my pb and ab nut butters- which I’m sad to say was pretty pathetic (the nut butters not the whole creation). However, with a little bit of everything thrown into the mix it definitely hit the spot- unlike dinner.
Then we reminisced and watched an old favourite movie- Step Brothers. Really it doesn’t get any better than that movie. Never a let down and always full of laughs haha!
Well we are off to enjoy our Sunday, get some grocery shopping in and who knows what else. Another night on our own- yay- so we’ll see where the day takes us

What’s your daily healthy thought? What would be the biggest let down meal you’ve ever had? Have you got a never-fail movie you always end up watching?
