Wow, did anyone else have a gigantic Sunday? The bf and I were going all day and as I blog he is having a sleep- and I’m under strict instructions to allow him to sleep for no more than 25 minutes haha. Poor little guy can’t keep up
And I mean that in the literal sense- because guess who finished first in the 5km run today- moi! Success
I was actually really pleased with myself and my time. I managed to finish in 27 minutes and 55 seconds, nailing my goal of 30 minutes, and I also ran the entire time. So I am very pleased with myself. The bf also did really well, considering he does no physical exercise whatsoever and finished in 33 minutes and 38 seconds. I was very proud of his efforts. I’ve also included a few shots from today.
First is the dreaded starting line- we were pretty nervous here. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to accomplish my goals and the bf was worried he wouldn’t make it haha! But obviously there was nothing to worry about.
You might be able to see in the top left corner some glorious blue sky. It was an absolutely stunning day and perfect conditions for running.
After the race I grabbed a whole heap of freebies- I love freebies even if I don’t eat, drink or use them haha. Things are better free! For instance, I got a purple powerade that will probably go untouched, a hat and medal which I’ll keep as momentos and a banana- which we did happen to eat later on.
Sporting my trendy hat and medal.
Our post-run snack (I say our because we shared an english muffin and ate basically the same thing- cute right) consisted of half an english muffin each, nutella & banana slices for him; almond butter, chia seeds and banana slices for me. And I even snapped a shot for ya
Don’t say I never do anything for you!
His & her post-race snacks.
Then we were off to Sexpo. If you don’t wish to read about the recap, this is where you’ll exit- otherwise stick around. Don’t worry I won’t get too explicit. Once arriving back in Southbank, for our third time in two days, we made our to the Sexpo, VIP style
We received a free showbag and medal (similar to my original medal but vibrating haha). Being a VIP also entitled you to numerous specials at the different vendors. We went VIP because I found cheap tickets on a daily deal site which basically made it cheaper to go VIP then general admission. I am good with my bargains
I won’t go into too much detail here about it, except you probably have to experience it yourself to understand. It was pretty overwhelming but you got more comfortable with it all as you spend more time there. There were a few stage demos also. The hypnotist was pretty funny but we were both skeptical about how ‘real’ it was. There was also a him and her show. A company called ‘Bad Boys’ showcased a few good looking men with rockin’ bods- who danced and entertained the ladies. It stayed pretty PG, or maybe M but nothing too crazy. Then the ‘Bombshell’ girls came out- that was a little more higher rated I’d say. Michelle ‘Bombshell’ Mgee or whatever her name is (I think she is known as a famous stripper to the stars and cheated with Sandra Bullocks ex-husband) was the star of the show and I couldn’t believe how covered in tattoos she was! There was literally not an empty space- and trust me we saw all spaces.
By then it was almost 4pm and get this- we hadn’t had lunch. I know, terrible! Let’s say we were both crazy hungry. I was kicking myself that I hadn’t eaten yet, even with my Dietitian reiterating the importance of eating more frequently when I exercise to minimize overeating/binge sessions. So after slapping myself on the wrist, we scurried on our way and got something we knew wouldn’t let us down- Grill’d! It was so good to get a good hearty meal into us, especially since it was our first proper meal since the run. Suddenly stuffed and satisfied we both decided we were pretty wrecked and decided to head on home- oh not before we walked past a designer & exxy dress store to which I found an amazing dress on special for only $50. You should be realising by now that I like good deals and I know how to find them
Tonight is definitely going to be a late and light dinner (and an early night mind you). I may even make some mess… I mean do some cooking and try a new protein slice recipe since I’ve finished all my protein breakfast slices. They were so convenient to have when I was rushed for time and needed something that was going to satisfy me and keep me truckin’.
What is your personal best for a race? Do you set yourself goals beforehand?

Great race time! That’s really awesome. You definitely killed my 5k time yesterday.
Man, I wish we could get a Sexpo here, but Utah is definitely too conservative for anything like that. Sounds like a lot of fun!
Thanks
Well it’s all about doing your best! Running 5km is an accomplishment in itself, seeing as though you are like me and hate running haha. Haha! I’m sure you could start a petition? That’d get everyone going
